Oh, halcyon days! What does it take to find peace when we lose those we love? When does the calm settle upon us. How do we carry on? The tragic, beautiful Greek myth of Ceyx and Alcyone, who in their deep love dared to playfully call each other ‘Zeus’ and ‘Hera’ and incurred the god’s impulsive wrath, sets the allusion firmly in place to thicken and inform this poem.
