spilt milk

We spend so much time worrying about minor events we cannot change. “There’s no use crying over spilled milk” is a wonderful idiom to explain that notion. ‘Spilt milk’ feels just a bit more poetic to me. Crying over the loss of a loved one? Different matter entirely – major event. What if both occur at the same time? Makes for an interesting juxtaposition, all swaddled in a modern take on haiku. Yeah, I’m a nerd.

Keep the tissues handy for this sad, heartfelt narration by my friend Simon Howard on Twitter.

  1. It’s so wierd the shit that speaks to me. It’s that horrible feeling when a loved one dies and life just carries on like nothing happened. But your entire world is crushed. I felt that.
