Rejection. How many times in our lives have we suffered unrequited love? Where the rules of love’s engagements change midstream, and we are left wanting to forget those feelings forever?

This poem explores the visceral pain of rejection. I know many of my readers love the mythic allusions in my poetry – plenty here! – but, for me, those references simply help to sharpen the emotional impact. This poem weighed heavy on my heart for days after writing it.

Love to hear your thoughts and feedback in the comments section!!
