Who doesn’t love a good faerie tale?
As a young lad of Irish descent, I was raised to believe that the fae were not to be trifled with. Faerie stories were not often a joke or some cutesy way to frighten naughty children.
They were real. Or at least grounded in some reality that required a certain modicum of respect and deference.
The Faerie Tree is a hawthorn tree. And it holds a very notable, cultural significance.
Here is some more info about hawthorn trees in Celtic mythology, if you’re interested in learning more after you read the poem….

Great poem. Also a test to make sure Comments are working. Cheers.
Beautiful and haunting
Thanks so much, Julie! 🌳🧚🙏 My wife often uses the same two adjectives to describe me 🤣
Oh, yikes! Leave it to a poet to write something beautiful and scary all at once! It’s great.
Time for me to read up on Hawthorn trees… 🙂
Thank so much, Anastasia! Glad you liked it. 🖤🙏🍷
