Hello, dear friends!
Sometimes love can be so close yet so far away. Too often we fail to act, and isn’t life all about timing?
This poem tackles the notion of love lost – and the intensity of that feeling. That endless regret over endless years.
It also incorporates the mythical allusion to Eurydice. If you are unfamiliar with the story of Orpheus & Eurydice, check it out by clicking on the link.
Nobody can break your heart like the ancient Greeks.
I hope you truly enjoy this poem. Please let me know your thoughts and feelings in the Comments Section below.

endless years
love comes so close
i can smell the sweetness on her neck
the taste
the heat
the fullness of intent on her lips
vestige of a touch
the echo of a familiar voice
taken
from me
lost in tumult like Eurydice
loves comes so close
i honor her through inadequate words
my song
my tears
heart’s memory beats soft ‘gainst my chest
‘cross all these endless years

Thanks so much, Bobby!! 🙏🏻🌹💙✨
This poem makes me think about people who find love in old age. Perhaps they have been alone for a long time and have given up on love entirely. Then, out of the blue, they meet someone as lonely as they are and something beautiful happens. Great poem Pat! 💞
Love it! Thanks, Naomi!!! 🙏🏻🍷🌹✨
Simply written but cuts to the core. Brings back memories of my partner who died through suicide, and also my brother, who’s first anniversary was yesterday.
Sending big digital hugs, Trish. So so sorry for your losses. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
